Balloon Gig

Yesterday, I did my very first balloon twisting gig.
Ridiculous practice balloons at the other job lol. Twisted these in between shows.

It was pretty insane. The start time was 4:45, which means that the latest to get there was 4:30. I got off of my main job around 4:00. Unfortunately, I was 30 minutes late.

Basically the reason that I was late was due to my transportation. I had plans to ride with two co-workers who were also doing this gig. One was a stilt walker and the other a balloon twister. Unfortunately, the stilt walker forgot her stilt pants and it was a real issue. >.> Long story short, she got the pants from her house (which is 45 minutes away from the place we needed to be at).

The theme of the balloon twisting was "white out", so I went all out in white. lol. I wore a blouse, the shirt that was provided, bloomers, tights, and a white wig. I also wore a black balloon apron. Things went pretty well overall. Due to the weather, the balloons popped some, but it wasn't a major problem. I mainly talked throughout the making of the balloons. I even got a compliment from someone. He thought that I was doing this for years! That made me feel good, considering that I only learned the Sunday beforehand.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any real pictures. I took a photo after the gig in the car, but it doesn't show off the whole attire. They're the same pictures from the circle lenses review. lol. Since I used my brown circle lenses and was exhausted I didn't get a really good photo.

Yet, overall the time that I was there was a success. There will be another balloon twisting gig again tomorrow. I'll try to get a photo of the get-up. It mainly will be the same outfit as Saturday, since the company loved the white out costumes. It made me really happy to hear compliments on my attire and seeing how happy the kids were getting free balloons.

I hope that I can polish up my skills. In the future, I hope to learn more than just the three types of balloons that I know now: swords, hats, and flowers.

The Dolly Eye: Twilight Red, Fairy Blue, & Puffy 3tones Brown Reviews

Hi~ I ended up purchases three different pairs of circle lenses from The Dolly Eye, so I figured that I'd do a review.

I purchased the lenses on March 28th. After ordering, I immediately got an email receipt. Following that, I received an email saying that once they were ready to ship the contacts that they would email a tracking number. I waiting for several weeks and never once got a tracking number. I figured that if I didn't hear or see anything by a certain date that I would contact them about the status of the lenses. To my surprise, I ended up getting the contacts in the mail on Wednesday, April 23rd. It almost took a month, which from my experiences is approximately average. Though, I must admit that I was a bit upset that I didn't get a tracking number.

When I opened up the package, all of the lenses were heavily wrapped in newspaper. It was extremely secure, which was great; however, the website claims that each purchase of lenses will give you a free contact case. I only received one, so I'm guessing that they meant by each total purchase? Not really sure. I was under the impression that I would be getting three. It wasn't any sort of special case either... just a plain, normal one. I have no complaints on that, since I just like having any workable case to use.

On to the lenses. My first choice that I ordered was Twilight Lens in Red. I needed to order some red lenses for the Kagamine Rin cosplay that I plan to do in the near future. So, they were the first contacts for me to try out. I moved the contacts to a case and let them sit overnight in solution. I was really pleased with how the lenses looked when I moved them. The color seemed to be pretty vibrant. The tone of red was exactly what I was looking for, so I was grateful.

The next day, I tried out the contacts. When I placed them on, I found them to be a little uncomfortable. Not insanely uncomfortable, but after applying some eye drops, they felt fine. I only had one main issue with the contacts: the transitioning to dark to light areas and vice versa. I first was in a dark house, then went to a very bright outdoors area. The lenses didn't adjust to the light very well. When I went back in, it was incredibly dark! It took about five minutes for my eyes to readjust to the changes. Other than that, they were relatively comfortable! I wore them for about 5 hours and was rather pleased. On a scale of 1-5, I'd give these a 4.

My second choice of lenses was the Fairy Blue. I've been wanting a pair of blue circle lenses for awhile, so I finally broke down and bought them. I was incredibly happy with this purchase. Taking them out of the main packaging and observing them, I was ecstatic. They were so pretty! The design was really nice too.

Since I had work on Friday, I ended up trying out my contacts out at work. I have a very active job, so I can't wear makeup there. ^^;; So, after getting into work, I changed into my lenses. I was really happy with the results. I had no problems getting them in and they were incredibly comfortable. I wore the lenses for about 8 hours with no problems. I definitely rate these a 5!

My final choice was a pair of brown lenses, Puffy 3tones Brown. I figured that having brown would be nice to have around. After taking the contacts out, I was pleased with the results; however, was expecting the color to be a bit sharper. Though, it wasn't a big deal.

I ended up wearing the lenses at work on Saturday (both normal work and my balloon gig). The color was really nice and I got lots of compliments from co-workers. When I placed the left contact in, I was ready for it to come out; however, I told myself that I would definitely wear them. After getting the right contact in, I noticed that it was incredibly uncomfortable. So, I put some eyedrops in. Usually when I use eyedrops it fixes the problem immediately; however, this time around, it didn't. After about 2 hours, I forgot that I was wearing contacts. Once the uncomfortableness went away, I was fine with them. I had no issues seeing or transitioning with light. So, I was happy with that. When I took the contacts out though, my eyes felt incredibly uncomfortable. It took about five minutes for my eyes to feel 100%.

I wanted to try out the brown ones again, so I wore them again today at work. This time around, I had no issues with them, except for putting them in. Once they were first put in, they were a bit uncomfortable, but that went away rather quickly. They functioned very nice today. Between the two days, I wore the lenses for about 18 hours. I give the rating on these a 3.

That's all that I have on reviewing~

Yowakutemo Katemasu

I'm currently obsessed with a baseball drama called Yowakutemo Katemasu. I'm a HUGE fan of Ninomiya Kazunari, so when I heard that he was going to star in this series, I was ecstatic. There literally hasn't been a single movie/drama that Nino's been in that I didn't like.

I've only watched the first two episodes and it's a LOT better than I intended. I guess that the timing of this specific drama was perfect for me... mainly because not only is baseball a good topic for a spring drama, but I'm currently in a show where baseball is the main topic. So, all-in-all, I'm biased. lol.

Also~ I must admit that I loved the first episode so much that I watched it three times in two days. What made me happier was the fact that there were things going on in the episode that I didn't see the first two times, so it always is fun. So far, I've watched episode two once; however, that will be remedied soon, since I haven't had much time.

Shitsuren Chocolatier

It's been awhile since I've watched a drama that featured Matsumoto Jun. I usually enjoy the dramas that he's in, so I was pretty excited to watch this one. The bonus~ was all the delicious looking chocolate!  I'm going to do a few brief thoughts that I had... I'm not really motivated enough for a full-out review (so cutting out a bunch of characters and what not). lol. (All photos in this post are screen captures from episode 1)

The first episode completely got my attention. I was absorbed by it and loved watching the unrequited love that Sota (Matsumoto Jun) had for Saeko (Ishihara Satomi). I was excited with the ending of the episode and then, I got extremely upset when the second episode came around. Mainly because, Sota was still hung up over Saeko. I enjoyed the love sickness in the first episode, but was hoping that he would move on in future episodes. Continuously watching the series, I found myself getting less and less interested, but I wanted to see him get over his love. Unfortunately, the entire series was about him and his unrequited love.

A few episodes in, the character Erena (Mizuhara Kiko) really caught my attention. She also suffered from unrequited love. Both her and Sota bonded this way and eventually became friends with benefits. When that first happened, I pretty much head-desked; however, in later episodes, I found myself fully supporting the two of them. Erena had her reasoning for this. Without them really knowing, they ended up caring deeply for each other; however, with the developments with Saeko and Sota in later episodes, Sota ended up giving up his chance with Erena for his unrequited love. During the middle of the series I found myself completely absorbed in Erena's character. I found her to be the most likable character in the series. It also was refreshing to see Mizuhara Kiko act out this character, considering that I first witnessed her acting in Platina Data. It was refreshing seeing her play a completely different role than that.

I'm not going to spoil everything; however, after getting frustrated and upset... I actually came to the conclusion that the series was absolutely amazing. Really thinking about it, it felt like one of the more realistic dramas out there. There really are several people who get hung up over someone and just won't move on no matter what. When I think about those type of people, I understand Sota's character more. The most realistic character of the bunch in my opinion was Kaoruko (Mizukawa Asami). She frustrated me the most, because she was constantly complaining about her love interest (Sota); however, never really made any effort to get his attention. I guess what bothered me the most about her was the fact that I could really relate with this character. The fact that I really disliked the character really upset me. I really wanted to like her; however, I couldn't bring myself to. In the first episode, I really thought that she would be the character that I root on, but that never happened.

Overall, I would give the drama 4/5 stars. If I didn't sit through the whole drama, the rating would have been waaaaaay lower. Yet, I felt that the ending was the best ending for this kind of series.
